EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE
Lead by former DARPA director Regina Dugan, Google's Advanced Technologies and Projects is a small team of pirates imagining and building the future. At ATAP I had the pleasure of working with some amazing people on some incredible projects.
Chief Designer & Fabricator
A five month long design research tour and power user pilot for Project Ara.
Designer - UX Team
The world's first 3D printed, modular smartphone, Ara is truly as unique as you are.
Lab Technician
State of the art prototyping lab with high end fabrication tools and full EE, ME, and ID support
Home to Carnegie Mellon's Tangible Interaction Design program, the CoDe Lab is an eclectic collection of artists, architects, engineers, musicians, and physicists. It was my introduction to a community of people who thought differently about design, and about the world. It was where I learned how to code, build circuits, and solder.
Working as the lab manager for the CoDe Lab I maintained our stock of prototyping components and tools including our 3D printers and lasercutter. This community was producing real work, important work, and as lab manager I got to be a part of the dialog that generated and shaped these ideas.
BACKGROUND
An architectural education is about learning how to define abstract problems, shape a creative process, and organize a complex system of elements into a solution.
PASSION
Physicalizing ideas forces you to confront problems and find solutions. Exploring ideas through building and iterating is the core of my education at the School of Architecture at CMU.
INSPIRATION
At CMU I've gotten to explore a number of different types of research including ethnographic research & co-creation as well as more traditional technical forms of study.
