Computational Design Lab

Home to Carnegie Mellon's Tangible Interaction Design program, the CoDe Lab is an eclectic collection of artists, architects, engineers, musicians, and physicists.  It was my introduction to a community of people who thought differently about design, and about the world.  It was where I learned how to code, build circuits, and solder.

Working as the lab manager for the CoDe Lab I maintained our stock of prototyping components and tools including our 3D printers and lasercutter.  This community was producing real work, important work, and as lab manager I got to be a part of the dialog that generated and shaped these ideas.
